Packaging streams move faster when the route is clear

Warehouses and distribution centres deal with EPS, stretch film, OCC, and mixed packaging in volumes that build faster than most operations plan for. The challenge isn't just recovery – it's keeping material moving without disrupting site flow, consuming dock space, or creating handling burden. BEWI Connect builds collection and trading routes that fit around operations, not the other way around.

Industry focus

High-throughput sites generate high-volume packaging streams

A mid-size distribution centre can generate several tonnes of OCC, LDPE stretch film, and EPS packaging per week. That material either creates operational friction – consuming dock space, disrupting flow, adding handling burden – or it becomes a commercial asset. The difference is whether a collection and trading route is built around the site's actual throughput pattern and logistics rhythm. That's what we do.

What matters in distribution and logistics material flows

Space and throughput pressure is the primary driver

Space and throughput pressure is the primary driver

Loose EPS and un-baled film consume warehouse space out of proportion to their weight. A facility with 50,000 sq ft of space losing dock capacity to packaging waste has an operational problem before it has a recycling one.

Collection rhythm must match site rhythm

Collection rhythm must match site rhythm

A distribution centre running 24/7 operations needs pickup schedules that fit around receiving, outbound, and dock-access windows – not collection vehicles that arrive at inconvenient times. We design collection around site operations.

On-site compaction changes the economics

On-site compaction changes the economics

Baled OCC and compacted EPS take a fraction of the storage space of loose material – and command better commercial terms from buyers. We assess whether on-site preparation investment makes sense for the site's volume and material mix.

Commercial & operational reality

Packaging recovery that solves the space problem first

In distribution operations, EPS and stretch film packaging don't just create disposal costs — they create operational friction. Loose material consumes dock space, slows handling, and creates fire safety and audit compliance concerns. Solving the space problem and the commercial recovery problem at the same time requires a route designed around site operations. That is what BEWI Connect builds — collection schedules, compaction recommendations, and trading arrangements that make the space work.

Why BEWI Connect is relevant for distribution and logistics

Operational fit is non-negotiable

Operational fit is non-negotiable

Recovery routes that slow receiving, block dock access, or disrupt daily flow don't get maintained. We design collection schedules and on-site handling recommendations that fit around shift patterns and site throughput – not alongside them.

Multi-stream expertise

Multi-stream expertise

Distribution centres generate OCC, LDPE stretch film, EPS protective packaging, and sometimes mixed plastics in parallel. We work across all of them with material-specific expertise – so each stream reaches the right buyer at the right commercial terms.

On-site preparation assessment

On-site preparation assessment

We assess whether balers, compactors, or EPS densifiers would change the economics for your volume and material mix. If the investment justifies itself, we'll say so. If it doesn't, we'll be direct about that too.

Predictable pickup and commercial terms

Predictable pickup and commercial terms

High-throughput sites need reliable collection. We build recurring arrangements – not spot transactions that leave you managing pickup uncertainty on top of everything else.

How the route works

How distribution packaging streams move from site to buyer

OCC is baled on-site and shipped to paper mills or board manufacturers on scheduled pickups. LDPE film is baled and collected by film recyclers – cleanliness and bale consistency determine grade and commercial terms. EPS is compacted or densified and moved to EPS processors. Pickup schedules are coordinated around receiving and outbound logistics windows. We manage collection timing, transport, and buyer placement across all streams simultaneously.

Operational perspective

The best recycling route is the one that fits the operation

Distribution sites can't run a recovery program that slows receiving, blocks dock access, or creates handling burden for warehouse staff. If the route creates friction, it stops being maintained. We build recovery arrangements that work within the operational reality– scheduled, predictable, and designed around what your site can actually sustain.
